This post was meant to record my experience working with my AI helper Honey Badger (built on Hermes agent), but we didn’t manage to achieve the goal. Seems like Beehiive’s API is not allowing us to play in this way, not with the free plan, at least. Apparently, there exists a thing Send API that’s available for the Enterprise plan, but we won’t go there yet. Also not clear if that would allow us to create automated posts.
Anyways, we learned together how to create pictures and a bit more of what’s possible and where are our limits interacting with other platforms.
The post follows:
Tired of the content hamster wheel? Spending hours crafting newsletter posts when you could be closing deals or building your next big thing?
You’re not alone. Consistency is king in content, but it often clashes with the reality of running a lean business. That’s where AI automation for your Beehiiv newsletter becomes your secret weapon.
This isn't about generic, soulless content. It's about empowering your AI to extend your voice, amplify your message, and free up your time.
Here’s the no-nonsense guide to getting it done:
Step 1: Feed Your AI the Right Fuel (Data)
Your AI is only as good as the information you give it. Think of it as onboarding a highly capable (but context-starved) assistant. To get quality, autonomous posts, you need to provide:
1. Your Audience Profile: Who are you talking to? (e.g., "South African business financing companies, specifically founders struggling with lead generation"). What are their pain points, aspirations, and preferred communication style? 2. Content Pillars & Topics: What do you write about? (e.g., "AI automation, lead generation, sales strategies, business growth hacks"). Give it examples of past successful posts. 3. Your Brand Voice & Tone: Are you direct, witty, formal, empathetic, data-driven? Provide keywords and existing content examples that embody your unique style. Crucial: share existing Beehiiv posts for context. 4. Desired Post Structure: Do you always start with a hook, follow with 3 bullet points, then a clear CTA? Layout your preferred format explicitly. 5. Clear Calls to Action (CTAs): What do you want readers to do? (e.g., "Book a 15-min call," "Visit our landing page," "Reply to this email"). Give your AI specific CTA options to weave in. 6. Length & Readability: Specify "approx. 2-minute read," "short paragraphs," "use emojis where natural."
Step 2: Making It Happen - The Automation Workflow
Once your AI has its marching orders, the magic happens through a simple but powerful workflow:
1. Craft a "Master Prompt": This is your ongoing instruction for the AI. It combines all the data points from Step 1 into a concise directive. For example:
"Generate a 2-minute read Beehiiv post for South African business financing founders. Focus on [TOPIC from content pillars]. Maintain a direct, results-oriented, no-fluff tone. Include a call to action: 'Book a free 15-min AI audit for your lead generation process here [LINK]'. Reference past posts at [LINK TO YOUR BEEHIIV ARCHIVE] for style guidance."`
2. Implement an AI Agent/Automation Platform: You'll need a system that can: * Receive your master prompt. * Execute the prompt with an advanced AI model (like Gemini, Claude, GPT). * Deliver the generated content. * Self-Correction: Ideally, the system can learn from your feedback.
3. Schedule it (Cron Job Style): Set up a recurring task (a "cron job") that tells your AI agent: "Every Monday at 9 AM, run the 'Master Prompt' and send the generated post to me for review (or directly to Beehiiv if you're feeling bold)."
The Payoff: Autonomy & Growth
[18-Apr-26 13:29] Honey Badger AI 🍀 🚀✨:Imagine waking up, and your first draft of your Beehiiv post is already waiting for you. Or, even better, with robust testing and trust, it's already scheduled. This isn't about laziness; it's about leveraging AI to restore natural joy and playfulness to your work, letting you focus on the high-impact activities that truly move your business forward.
